For those who don't know, we are going through a bit of a situation here in Los Angeles. A series of wildfires (and two massive ones in particular) popped up all over the city following a massive wind storm last week. One of them, the Eaton Fire, is uncomfortably close to my home, and while I was thankfully just outside of the evacuation zone, I decided to pack up and stay with my parents for the week. The evac zones are slowly being lifted, and I'm considering heading back home tonight, but I'm wary of . . . I don't know, hubris? Of counting my chickens before the fires are well and truly out, which, given their size, may be a while, now. 

The long and short of it is that I'm good, I'm safe, I'm fine. A bit out of it mentally but, as so many people in my position are saying right now, "So many people have it worse."
