I'm glad some people clocked Ito's comment from the previous page--yes, her opinion is informed by her experience as a trans woman! This scene ended up getting cut down by about half (see my previous mentioned impulse to include every possible side of a debate), but I wanted to make sure I kept her comment. Ito of all people would understand that sometimes it is really, really not safe to disclose your identity to others (especially people as bad at keeping secrets as the Lodgers).

These kinds of dialogue-dump pages inevitably look weird when slightly shrunken down to the 9x6" format of the printed book (the layout was originally intended for a more traditional comic book size, about 7x10"). It's all part of my lifelong struggle against writing too dang much!
