I name a lot of things after random songs I like, but We Both Go Down Together by the Decemberists is like . . . the biggest one of those. This song and the album it comes from are what I associate most with my high school music collection, along with The New Pornographers, the Dresden Dolls, and They Might Be Giants. I have seen The Mariner's Revenge Song performed live multiple times. The giant cardboard cut-out whale was present at each performance.

On the subject of the cover itself: I'm quite pleased with how this cover came out! There were a lot of things that could have gone wrong--the pushed background perspective, the complex environment, the watercolor-esque style--and I'm not saying they're perfect, but it all came together pretty effortlessly. And I think it reflects a very important moment in the chapter to come rather well.
