Against all odds, I managed to hit my goals for Volume 3 slightly ahead of schedule last week--I still have a bit of work left to do, but it's mostly technical, the kind of work I can put on in the background while plowing through the next Artemis Fowl book (just finished The Eternity Code--I retained almost nothing of it from childhood but really enjoyed it!).

This resulted in the most blissfully relaxed Christmas Eve in which I not only had time to pack but to clean my flat and even go read outside for half an hour after accidentally causing a small gas leak during said cleaning. After that, I've had four days of whirlwind holiday activities with the family (=2 activities a day, which probably only seems like a whirlwind after the bone-deep exhausting year I've had) which have only today come to an end. Sensing the approach of genuine relaxation, my body immediately made itself sick, and I spent the day in an exhausted haze. Which isn't too bad, as it's forcing me to rest and preventing me from feeling guilty for doing so?? I've sampled just about every herbal tea in the house today.
