We stan a ~lavender marriage.~
I don't know exactly where Everly falls on the spectrum, but I want to say "lesbian, but lazy about it." She primarily identifies as a homebody. She dislikes crowds, noise, and putting on any kind of public persona, which explains her sour mood when we saw her briefly in Chapter 11 (if being pushed into marriage isn't reason enough).
I keep meaning to do a short comic about their wedding night: Robert walks into their nupital suite, sees Everly sitting stiffly at the edge of the bed. They stare at each other for a beat. Then, Everly blurts out, "I don't want to do this." Robert: "OH THANK GOD." Lanyon, Sr. is fully aware of the arrangement and doesn't care so long as it keeps his son's name out of the papers; Everly's family is in deep denial and expects a grandchild any day now.
