After watching him stumble, hollow-eyed and exhausted, through the last two chapters, I find it very satisfying to remember that Jekyll still has the capacity for snark. He maintains his laser focus on what he wants, what Hyde wants, and the ever-shifting set of rules and power dynamics that governs the dangerous game they're playing, even as reality crumbles around him.
